Huntington, One Year Later: Three Days, Rain and So Many Familiar Faces
Share
Market recap. And a happy anniversary.
A year ago, the Long Island Fall Festival in Huntington was my very first market ever. This year I went back. Three days, one rainstorm, and a whole lot of love.
Saturday: back where it all started
Setting up on that street again felt different. Last year I was nervous and figuring out everything as I went. This year I knew exactly where every candle went. Same street, a whole new booth.

And the people. Some of the things I heard at my table:
- "Your booth looks like FALL."
- "Wait⦠you MADE that?"
- "I want to eat this." (Please don't. π)
- "I'll be right back." (We know.)
Sunday: the rain
Sunday had other plans. The rain came in and cut the day short. The side walls went up, we stayed cozy for as long as we could, and then it was time to pack down early.
Not the day I hoped for. But here's the thing about market life: you roll with it.
Monday: one more day
Then we got good news. ONE more day, this time inside the park. A bonus Monday I didn't see coming, and I'm so glad it happened.

So many familiar faces came back to see me. Some of you were there at my very first market a year ago. Seeing you again is my favorite part of market day. Thank you for coming back. π€
The soaps
My handmade soaps started as a little trial, and you loved them. Chai Oat Milk, Harvest Spice and Amber Woods, all cold process and scented only with essential oils. By Monday I only had a few bars left.

So they're here to stay. More are coming for future markets, and soon on the website too.
What sold out
When I got home, I had to mark a few things SOLD OUT on the website:
- All of our small linen and room sprays
- Bright & Bubbly, cranberry prosecco and blood orange
- Root & Rind 9 oz (only one 12 oz left)
- Cinnamon Barrel Cider 14 oz
- Sweet Butterscotch Eve 8 oz
Thank you for every candle, every spray and every bar of soap you took home.
One year in
A year ago I showed up with a few candles and a lot of nerves. Today I make my own concrete vessels by hand, I have linen sprays and soaps, and I have customers who come back to find me. I'm proud of this little business, and so grateful to everyone who's been part of it.
